This image is part of a project in Paris created in the lead-up to the Iraq War. The rush to a war of choice was met with marches on the streets. My work turned to a sort of War Photography, or as close as I plan to get to same. In this image and elsewhere, I sought to feed off melange of photographic traditions, from War to Nature to Wedding to Fashion to Medical to Documentary to Street. Paris has been central to all these traditions since the birth of photography.

For this image, I like to think that I have referenced all or most of these various photographic genres and, hopefully, in doing, with this project and the Triptych of projects in St Petersburg, Paris, and Dublin, innovated in Photography on my own terms as expressed, in the terms of this image, by blinding 3 people in one moment with 1 funky, fashionable, fur and feathered hat outside a wedding on the eve of a war now universally accepted as mistake undertaken on deceptive premises.
