2010-2018, Fashion the Land
This is one from a Triptych of landscape projects from Ireland. In each project, I made straight photographs in the field, then manipulated each with Photoshop digital software. I set the raw images to duplicate, flip, and rotate in various ways.
Of the many resulting digital images, I edited down the group. This work flow and process replicated for me a wonder not unlike the experience in a darkroom as a photographic print appears after exposure to a film negative.
This project, called "Fashion the Land”, is comprised of a select group of images that resemble other objects or mostly-symmetrical life forms. This project asks questions about the natural world as photographic subject.
