2006-2008, Xisles: Collect Em All

Multi-media. Participatory and collaborative. Pop-influenced. ImmersIV art project. SubversIV squad. It's about migration, movement, an invitation to meet neighbours. It's a call for instant respect for people of color. The way into these topics is a global game. This was a mythic collection of the greatest Xisled footballers ever assembled in the 1970s. A group of players set into motion by events in their countries: famine, political pogroms, civil wars, genocide. Xisles FC, with supporters like global superstar Julissa (no surname required), became a global symbol of Humanistic ideals. This project looks back at that time to reveal our present. The work consists of genuine artifacts like trading cards and documentary footage to take a measure of progress, or lack thereof, of progress of the issues of our times.
