Ireland is a small island. Its edges, its beaches draw me as subjects. As with other subjects I choose, these are spaces of transition. Time is involved--cyclical rather than linear.  The convergence of tides and other natural phenomena is dramatic.  Those occupying these border areas are susceptible to cosmic rules.  I set out to photograph some of the textures and light on Irish beaches where science and chance both play a role.
